As deputy chief auditor, Wilson provides technical direction in the development of the Board's standards, assists in managing the activities of the Office of the Chief Auditor, and ensures that the PCAOB standards are appropriately communicated to auditors and other interested parties. Most recently, he was the leader of the project team that assisted the Board in developing the auditing standards on assessment of and response to risk.
Before joining the PCAOB, Wilson was senior director of product development and co-leader of the Accounting and Auditing publications group at Practitioners Publishing Company (PPC), where he co-authored several guides on audit and attest engagements. Before that, Wilson was with Grant Thornton.
Wilson earned a BBA in accounting from Stephen F. Austin State University. He is a certified public accountant in Texas.
