Special Adviser to the Chairman

Anita Doutt serves as Special Adviser to the Chairman at the PCAOB. In this role, she advises Chairman Demetrios (Jim) Logothetis on transformation initiatives to enhance the PCAOB’s effectiveness in executing its mission to protect investors and the public interest by promoting informative, accurate, and independent audit reports.

Prior to her appointment in April 2026, Ms. Doutt served as a Senior Associate Chief Accountant in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Office of the Chief Accountant, where she led work on audit and auditor independence policy and supported the SEC’s oversight of the PCAOB. From February through June 2025, she also served as Acting Deputy Chief Accountant.

In her time at the SEC, Ms. Doutt focused on the application and development of policy related to auditing, auditor independence, and internal controls, working closely with regulators, standard setters, and other stakeholders on emerging issues affecting audit quality and the audit profession.

Prior to joining the SEC, Ms. Doutt was a Senior Manager at KPMG, where she focused on auditing and internal control over financial reporting across a range of industries. During that time, she was selected to be a Fellow at the Center for Audit Quality, where she contributed to initiatives to enhance audit quality, strengthen auditor independence, and reinforce confidence in the capital markets.

Ms. Doutt is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Virginia and the District of Columbia. She holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of South Florida and a Master of Accounting from The Ohio State University.
