George G. Demos

Division of Enforcement and Investigations
George G. Demos is the Director of the PCAOB’s Division of Enforcement and Investigations (DEI). In this role, he oversees and directs the PCAOB’s investigations and enforcement of violations of its rules, professional standards, and other applicable securities regulations.
Mr. Demos was formerly a litigation partner at DLA Piper LLP, where he represented companies under federal and state investigation and conducted internal corporate reviews. Previously, he served as Senior Counsel at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Division of Enforcement, leading investigations and prosecutions into accounting fraud, insider trading, and market manipulation. He has also served as an adjunct professor at UC Davis School of Law, where he taught Corporate and White Collar Crime and the Constitutional Law of Presidential Power.
Mr. Demos received a B.A. from Columbia University and a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law.
