Johnny Yu

Johnny Yu is Board Adviser to Board Member Steven D. Laughton and advises him on all matters that come before the Board.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Yu was an Inspections Associate Director in the PCAOB’s Division of Registration and Inspections where he led inspections of accounting firms registered with the PCAOB. He also served as the leader of the Division’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) Subject Matter Group where he led research projects and training of the Division’s staff, as well as collaboration with other offices and divisions within the PCAOB on AI related topics. Prior to joining the PCAOB in 2023, Mr. Yu was a Managing Director with Deloitte & Touche LLP, leading delivery of audit, assurance and risk advisory services to federal agencies, issuers, and other private-sector organizations across diverse industries.

Mr. Yu is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Maryland and a Certified Information Systems Auditor. He received a Master of Science in accounting from University of New Orleans.
