Mamed Salmanov is a Board Advisor to Board Member Kyle S. Hauptman and advises him on all matters that come before the Board.

Prior to joining the PCAOB, Mr. Salmanov was a Managing Director in KPMG's Department of Professional Practice, the firm’s National Office, where he oversaw the firm's root cause analysis activities, including the evaluation of audit quality matters and the identification of factors affecting audit quality outcomes. His work informed quality improvement initiatives and actions designed to strengthen audit quality across the firm.

Previously, Mr. Salmanov served as Assistant Chief Auditor in the PCAOB's Office of the Chief Auditor. In that role, he participated in the development of auditing standards and advised on policy, interpretive, and implementation matters related to PCAOB standards.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Salmanov served as a Managing Director in CFGI's Capital Markets Services practice, where he advised public and private companies on complex accounting, financial reporting, SEC reporting, internal control, and capital markets matters.

Mr. Salmanov began his career with Deloitte & Touche LLP, where he advanced through roles in the audit practice, serving public company and private company clients, and later served in the firm's National Office, working in the Internal Inspections group and evaluating audit engagements while contributing to initiatives to enhance audit quality.

Mr. Salmanov received a Master of Science in accounting from the University of New Orleans (now LSU New Orleans). He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Virginia and Louisiana and a Certified Internal Auditor.
