Matt Goldin is the Acting General Counsel of the PCAOB. In this role, he provides legal advice and counsel on all PCAOB operations and manages the Office of the General Counsel (OGC) to execute the organization's statutory mandate.
Before being named Acting General Counsel in January 2026, Mr. Goldin served as a Deputy General Counsel in OGC, advising the Board on PCAOB programs and operations and assisting with OGC’s management.
Prior to joining the PCAOB in January 2016, Mr. Goldin worked in the general counsel’s office at a large asset manager, served in the Division of Investment Management at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, and practiced corporate and securities law. Early in his career, Mr. Goldin was a teaching fellow in the Arab Republic of Egypt, served in the Office of the Legal Adviser at the U.S. Department of State, and participated in the Fulbright Program in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
Mr. Goldin holds a J.D. from Yale Law School, an M.Phil. in international relations from the University of Cambridge, and a B.A. in Near Eastern Languages & Civilizations from Yale College.
