Paul Wolfteich is Board Counsel to Board Member Steven D. Laughton and advises him on all matters coming before the Board.

Prior to joining the PCAOB, Mr. Wolfteich worked for nearly 20 years at the U.S. Department of the Treasury. His roles there included Principal Deputy Assistant General Counsel (Banking and Finance) and Chief Counsel for the Bureau of the Fiscal Service. He helped lead the Treasury Department’s implementation of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act and the Troubled Asset Relief Program, developed compliance programs, and advised on a wide variety of fiscal and general law matters. Before joining the Treasury Department, Mr. Wolfteich was a Senior Counsel at the U.S. Department of Justice.

Mr. Wolfteich holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt University and a B.A. from the College of William and Mary.
