Board Hires Director of Human Resources

Washington, D.C., Apr. 8, 2004

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced today that Sara Bridwell has joined the Board’s staff as its Director of Human Resources.

Ms. Bridwell, 40, joins the PCAOB after 12 years in the human resources department at PricewaterhouseCoopers. As Human Resources Geography Leader, U.S. Tax Practice, her role was to ensure a consistent implementation of human resources strategy for tax professionals across 52 offices and six regions nationally.

“Sara’s years of experience in staff development, performance management, and recruiting will be a tremendous asset to the PCAOB, especially during this important phase of hiring staff,” said Board Chairman William J. McDonough.

At PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ms. Bridwell was a lead member of a project team that worked across 18 U.S. offices to implement a new staffing and development model that included focus on measurements of success, intern training, and recruiting of minority candidates.

"I could not be more pleased to be a part of the PCAOB and have the opportunity to contribute to such an important mission," said Ms. Bridwell.

Before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers, Ms. Bridwell was the meetings and communications coordinator for the Greater Orlando Chamber of Commerce and a public relations representative with Martin Marietta Electronics & Missiles Group in Orlando, Florida.

Ms. Bridwell earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications at Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida, and studied human resource management at George Washington University in Washington, DC.
