Patrick McNamee

Patrick McNamee is a deputy chief auditor in the Office of the Chief Auditor. He provides technical direction in the development of standards, and assists in managing the activities of the office and seeing that standards are appropriately communicated to auditors and other interested parties.

Prior to joining the PCAOB, Mr. McNamee was a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Most recently, he worked in PwC's national auditing services group. Before that, Mr. McNamee was an audit partner in PwC's Washington office, where he worked on audits of financial institutions and led the firm's public sector practice. Earlier, he worked for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Government Accountability Office, helping to establish their audit standards.

Mr. McNamee earned a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Southern California, and an M.S. in Management Information Systems from the University of Virginia. He is a certified public accountant in Virginia and serves, in a personal capacity, as a member of the Federal Accounting Standards Advisory Board, which recommends generally accepted accounting principles for the federal government.
