Treazure R. Johnson

Treazure R. Johnson is special counsel to Board Member Kathleen M. Hamm and advises her on all matters that come before the board.

She joined the PCAOB in April 2018, from Dentons USA, LLP, in Washington, where she was a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Division. She was at Dentons since 2013 (pre-merger McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP), focusing on defending corporate entities and individuals in investigations, enforcement actions and prosecutions involving the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Department of Justice and state law enforcement agencies.

Ms. Johnson is experienced in matters alleging financial fraud, including auditor liability, insider trading, market manipulation, the False Claims Act, and public corruption. She also conducted internal investigations and provided corporate governance counseling. From 2005-2013, she was a partner in the Litigation Division at Venable LLP, in Washington.

Ms. Johnson was a senior assistant chief litigation counsel at the SEC from 2001-2005, serving as lead trial counsel, managing and executing all phases of litigation for the SEC in federal and administrative proceedings. She advised investigative staff and evaluated investigations for litigation and legal strategy.

Before that, she worked at Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC, and Fine & Ambrogne, both in Boston. Ms. Johnson earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia Law School, and a B.A. from the College of William & Mary.
