Board Announces Standing Advisory Group Meeting

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced today that it has scheduled a Standing Advisory Group meeting for September 8 and 9 to review existing auditing standards and to discuss potential future standards.

The group will meet on Wednesday, September 8, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. and on Thursday, September 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The two-day meeting will be held in the Marriott at Metro Center’s ballroom located at 775 12th Street, NW, Washington, DC.

The items to be considered by the advisory group include issues relating to an auditor's responsibility for the detection of fraud, the interim auditing standard on related-party transactions, issues associated with auditing the measurement and disclosure of assets and liabilities at fair value, the interim auditing standard on the confirmation process, and risk assessment. The meeting is open to the public and will be webcast on the Board’s Web site on September 8, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. and on September 9, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
