Robert had most recently served as Senior Director of Policy and Advocacy for the CFA Institute, where he worked to advance the interests of investors and the public interest. Prior to joining the PCAOB, Robert worked more than 20 years for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in a variety of investor protection roles, including reviewing and commenting on corporate disclosures; investigating alleged wrongdoing and recommending enforcement action; and implementing public policy as part of the Commission’s executive staff.

In 2011, Robert was awarded the Commission’s first Legis Congressional Fellowship, where he worked alongside Senate Banking Committee staff, coordinated hearings, worked on a variety of legislative matters, drafted legislation, and drafted speeches and other communications.

Robert has been the recipient of a number of awards, including one from the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York related to the investigation and repatriation of $200 million dollars.
