Martha C. Kidd is Special Counsel to Chair Erica Y. Williams and advises her on all matters that come before the Board. 

Ms. Kidd joined the PCAOB in early 2020 as Special Counsel to former Board member Rebekah Goshorn Jurata. She then served as the Board Transition Advisor to Acting Chairperson Duane DesParte. 

Prior to joining the PCAOB, Ms. Kidd practiced law at Williams & Connolly LLP and Covington & Burling LLP, where she litigated professional malpractice, criminal, and intellectual property matters. She also clerked for Judge T.S. Ellis, III on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Prior to law school, Ms. Kidd worked in the assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, auditing companies in the biotechnology and entertainment industries.

Ms. Kidd earned a B.S. from the University of Virginia, majoring in commerce and chemistry. She received a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a member of the Managing Board of the Virginia Law Review. She is also a Certified Public Accountant.
