PCAOB Announces Agenda for June 5-6 Standing Advisory Group Meeting

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board today announced the agenda for its Standing Advisory Group meeting in Washington on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 5-6.

"The new Board looks forward to our first meeting with SAG members and hearing their views about current or emerging issues affecting the work of auditors," said PCAOB Chairman William D. Duhnke.

The meeting will open on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. with a panel discussion with the new PCAOB Board members and an update on standard-setting activities. This will be followed by a discussion about data and technology, cybersecurity, and other current or emerging issues that may affect audits or auditors.

Later in the day, the SAG will split into breakout sessions to discuss the topics further. These sessions will be closed to the public, and summaries of the discussions will be presented at the SAG meeting the next day.

The Wednesday morning session will begin with a panel discussion of corporate culture and its implications for the audit, followed by a panel discussion on implementation of the new auditor's report.

Later that morning, SAG members will summarize their breakout session discussions from the prior day. The meeting is expected to conclude around 12 p.m.

The SAG meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at the Washington Plaza Hotel, 10 Thomas Circle NW, Washington, DC. It will be streamed live on the PCAOB website, and a recording will be available afterward.

The Standing Advisory Group advises the PCAOB on the development of auditing and related professional practice standards. The SAG includes investors, auditors, audit committee members, public company executives, and others.
