Gail A. Pierce

Gail A. Pierce is Board Counsel to Board Member Anthony C. Thompson and advises him on all matters that come before the Board.

Ms. Pierce rejoined the PCAOB as Board Counsel in 2023, having previously served in the PCAOB’s Office of the General Counsel for over eight years, most recently as a Senior Associate General Counsel. Ms. Pierce has practiced law at two international law firms, advising public companies concerning their disclosure obligations under federal securities laws. Ms. Pierce began her legal career at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, serving as an Attorney Adviser in the Division of Corporation Finance.

Ms. Pierce received a B.A. from Wellesley College and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center.
