Jane Hutchens is Board Adviser to Board Member Anthony C. Thompson and advises him on all matters that come before the Board.

Mrs. Hutchens joined the PCAOB in October 2011 as an Inspector within the Division of Registration and Inspections (DRI). In that capacity, she performed and led numerous inspections of U.S. and international audit firms. Mrs. Hutchens also served a three-year rotation with the predecessor of the PCAOB’s Office of Economic and Risk Analysis, assisting in writing the PCAOB’s 2015 concept release on audit quality indicators and leading the development of a taxonomy for all comment letters received regarding that release. As part of her rotation, Mrs. Hutchens presented at advisory group meetings and developed staff recommendations for the Board on various policy matters. She also oversaw several projects as a member of DRI’s Innovation Group and led the division’s efforts to centralize planning for all triennial inspections of U.S. firms.

Prior to the PCAOB, Mrs. Hutchens was a Senior Manager in Deloitte LLP’s Audit and Assurance Practice, where she led global public company audits for more than a decade. She was also part of the firm’s manager development program and wrote and facilitated national audit trainings for the U.S. audit practice.

Mrs. Hutchens received a Bachelor of Science in business administration, with a minor in accounting, from Pepperdine University in California, the state in which she is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.
