Patrick Kastein

Patrick Kastein is the Deputy Director of Modeling and Business Intelligence in the Office of Economic and Risk Analysis. In this role, Mr. Kastein leads the teams responsible for providing the Board and PCAOB staff with information and insights on the audits of public companies and brokers and dealers. The teams include a diverse group of skillsets which includes CPAs, economists, financial analysts and data analysts using a variety of analytical tools. Mr. Kastein has been with the PCAOB since 2009 during which time he has led multiple research projects, including the PCAOB’s first public research report and first white paper.
Prior to joining the PCAOB, Mr. Kastein was a senior research analyst at Allianz Global Investors (formerly known as RCM Capital Management) specializing large-cap equity and fixed income investments for institutional clients and high-net worth individuals.
Mr. Kastein earned a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the CFA Society of Washington, DC.
