Steven D. Laughton

Steven D. Laughton is Board Counsel to Board Member Christina Ho and advises her on all matters that come before the Board.

Mr. Laughton was most recently the Senior Counsel to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s (Treasury) General Counsel where he assisted in standing up the Paycheck Protection Program. While at the Treasury, Mr. Laughton also served as the Assistant General Counsel for Banking and Finance where he provided legal advice and guidance to the Treasury Secretary and senior staff on the full range of Treasury domestic finance initiatives. As Assistant General Counsel, Mr. Laughton supervised a professional staff of over 50 attorneys and support staff.

Before joining the PCAOB, Mr. Laughton worked more than 30 years for the Treasury in the Office of General Counsel.
