Colleen Honigsberg
Senior Economic Research Fellow (2017-2018)
Colleen Honigsberg was a senior economic research fellow in the Office of Economic and Risk Analysis from 2017 to June 2018. She is a professor at Stanford Law School, where her research is focused on the empirical study of corporate and securities law.
Professor Honigsberg's recent papers have looked at carbon accounting, the regulation of financial advisors, and the relationship between legal liability and audit quality. Her research has been published in leading academic journals and featured in major publications, such as The Economist, The Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times.
Professor Honigsberg has expertise in accounting and previously worked as a certified public accountant for PricewaterhouseCoopers and for Compass Lexecon. She is currently a member of the SEC's Investor Advisory Committee.
She received a Ph.D. from Columbia Business School and a J.D. from Columbia Law School.
