Somdutta Basu

Economic Research Fellow (2014-2015) 

Somdutta Basu was an economic research fellow in the Center for Economic Analysis, now the Office of Economic and Risk Analysis, at the PCAOB between September 2014 and September 2015.

Ms. Basu is currently an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley's Fixed Income Research division and is the head of Morgan Stanley's Macro Research Strats team. In her previous role at MS Research, Somdutta was a member of the Securitized Products group focusing on US Housing and Residential Mortgage Backed Securities. As a Research Strategist, she has published numerous Research Reports as lead author and attended and spoke at various conferences representing Morgan Stanley. 

Ms. Basu earned her B.S. with honors in economics from Presidency College, University of Calcutta, India, and her M.S. in quantitative economics from the Indian Statistical Institute. She received her Ph.D. in economics from Penn State.
