Economic Research Fellow (2014-2015)
Somdutta Basu was an economic research fellow in the Center for Economic Analysis, now the Office of Economic and Risk Analysis, at the PCAOB between September 2014 and September 2015. She is currently a consultant at Econ One in San Francisco.
Previously, Ms. Basu was a teaching assistant for a variety of economics-based classes at Pennsylvania State University. She has presented her research work at seminars at universities, including Carnegie Mellon University and Yale School of Management.
Ms. Basu's primary fields of interest are game theory, reputation models, and auditing. Secondary fields of interest include corporate disclosure, team incentives, environmental auditing, and micro-finance. Her academic work is listed here.
Ms. Basu earned her B.S. with honors in economics from Presidency College, University of Calcutta, India, and her M.S. in quantitative economics from the Indian Statistical Institute. She received her Ph.D. in economics from Penn State.
