Jake Krupa
Senior Economic Research Fellow (2024-2025)
Jake Krupa was a senior economic research fellow in the Office of Economic and Risk Analysis at the PCAOB from July 2024 to July 2025. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Accounting at Tulane University where he teaches Accounting Analytics.
Professor Krupa's research interests span corporate disclosure and information intermediaries. His primary focus is using machine learning and textual analysis methodologies to analyze how information transfers between corporations and external stakeholders, with particular emphasis on understanding the mechanisms and effectiveness of information intermediaries such as auditors. He has published his research in the Review of Accounting Studies. He is currently on the Editorial Board of Contemporary Accounting Research.
Prior to joining academia, Professor Krupa worked as an audit associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers in South Florida, specializing in the auditing of investment fair values, where he obtained his CPA license. He received a B.S.B.A. in Accounting and a Master of Accounting from the University of Miami, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Miami.
