Matthew Sherwood is an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He obtained a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Kansas in 2016. Before pursuing his doctorate, he spent ten years at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Sherwood spent the first three years of his time at PwC in the core assurance practice, before transitioning into the data risk and management group. Matt also spent two years on international secondment, working in PwC Ireland's Dublin office, and eighteen months as a Research Fellow with the PwC's Center for Advanced Research, in San Jose, CA. Matt is working as an Economic Research Fellow in the Office of Economic and Risk Analysis. He will be focusing on the Audit Quality Indicators initiative, during the direction of Saad Siddiqui.
