Board Announces October Standing Advisory Group Meeting

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced today that it has scheduled a meeting of its Standing Advisory Group for Wednesday, October 5, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Thursday, October 6, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Army Navy Club, 901 17th Street, N.W., Washington, DC.

The matters to be considered by the advisory group are standards-setting activities for 2006, the concept of reasonable assurance, and a review of certain existing reporting standards. In addition, the Board has invited guests to participate in panel discussions regarding engagement quality reviews (also referred to as second, or concurring, partner reviews) in smaller public accounting firms registered with the PCAOB and communications with audit committees.
