Board Creates Office of Internal Oversight and Performance Assurance
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board today announced the creation of the Office of Internal Oversight and Performance Assurance. The staff of the office will perform internal reviews of the programs and operations of the PCAOB to help ensure their efficiency, integrity and effectiveness.
The Board has named Peter Schleck, a former senior advisor to the inspector general of the U.S. Department of Energy, as director of the office and Fred Doggett as deputy director.
Mr. Schleck, 35, comes to the PCAOB with more than 15 years of experience serving three different presidentially appointed, Senate-confirmed inspectors general at two Cabinet-level agencies. He was also staff liaison to various inspectors general for the audit committee of the President's Council on Integrity and Efficiency. Mr. Schleck earned his Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he was a notes editor for the American Criminal Law Review. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the University of Maryland at College Park.
Mr. Doggett, 43, has more than 21 years of professional audit experience in federal cabinet-level agencies and on behalf of the U.S. Congress. Most recently, he was assistant inspector general for audit services at the Department of Energy where he directed dozens of complex financial and performance audits involving multi-billion dollar energy and national defense programs. Mr. Doggett is a Certified Public Accountant and earned his Masters of Public Administration degree at American University in Washington, DC.
