Board Hires Director of Human Resources

Washington, D.C., Mar. 3, 2003

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) announced today that it has hired John C. Honor, Jr. as Director of Human Resources, effective March 17. “We are very pleased to add John’s breadth and depth of experience and expertise to our capabilities,” said Charles D. Niemeier, Acting Chairman of the Board.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Honor said, “I am delighted to join an organization dedicated to the highest standards of quality, independence, and ethics.”

His 30-year career in Human Resources includes stints in the aerospace, automotive, professional sports, insurance and professional services industries. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Human Resources and Development, for US Airways. There, he provided strategic leadership and direction in learning and development, rewards and recognition, performance management, diversity, compensation and benefits, employee communication and HR Management Systems. Previously, he was Principal for Human Resources for Booz, Allen & Hamilton, McLean Va. He has also served as National Director, Human Resources for KPMG, LLP, as Vice President for Human Resources and Development for Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance. Mr. Honor has also been Executive Director for Human Resources, Baseball Office of the Commissioner, Major League Baseball, New York. He began his career at Pratt & Whitney, later serving in a variety of posts at United Technologies Corporation. A United States Marine Corps veteran, he served in Vietnam. Mr. Honor earned a BA degree from North Carolina Central University and an MS from the University of Hartford.
