Information Technology Director Nirav Kapadia to Leave PCAOB
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced today that Nirav Kapadia, Director of the Office of Information Technology and Chief Information Officer, will leave the PCAOB this month.
Since 2011, Mr. Kapadia led all aspects of the PCAOB's technology program. Under his leadership, the IT office built new capabilities, such as business process automation, user-centered design, and organizational change management.
He spearheaded the enhancement of the PCAOB's IT security, created an IT governance structure, and implemented agile practices.
"Nirav has been a driver for change and innovation in the use of technology at the PCAOB," said William D. Duhnke, PCAOB Chairman. "He has been instrumental in establishing the foundation of the Board's information technology program, and has prepared us for future innovations and enhanced capabilities."
"It has been an honor to have worked with the Board and served the public interest by playing a part in advancing the mission of the PCAOB," said Mr. Kapadia. "I am proud of my team of dedicated and talented professionals, and all that we have accomplished together."
Before joining the PCAOB, Mr. Kapadia was a vice president for portfolio strategy at Fujitsu America, with a focus on cloud computing. Prior to that, he was vice president for strategic business planning at Unisys Corporation, where he helped lead the transformation of the outsourcing business. Early in his career, he cofounded a startup business, Cantiga Systems, Inc.
Mr. Kapadia has an M.S. and Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University. He is a certified information systems security professional (CISSP).
