PCAOB Announces Additional Webinar on Critical Audit Matters

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board today announced an additional opportunity for auditors to participate in a webinar on the implementation of the new critical audit matter (CAM) requirements.  In addition to the webinars previously announced, there will also be a webinar on May 15, 2019. 

“Providing useful, timely, and accessible information is a key objective of the Board’s five-year strategic plan,” said Chairman William D. Duhnke.  “We are committed to utilizing a variety of avenues, including these upcoming webinars, to assist auditors ahead of the CAM implementation dates.”

The webinars will cover CAM determination, communication, and documentation requirements, as well as other considerations relevant to CAM requirements.  Each webinar is expected to last 75 minutes and will cover the same material. 

There is no fee to participate and participants have the opportunity to earn continuing professional education credits, but registration is required.  Additional resources on CAMs, including webinar recordings and recently-released staff guidance, can be found on the new auditor’s report implementation page.
