PCAOB Announces Standing Advisory Group Meeting to Discuss the Auditor’s Reporting Model and the Auditor’s Approach to Detecting Fraud
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board today announced that it will hold a meeting of its Standing Advisory Group on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 15-16, 2012.
The meeting agenda includes a discussion of recent PCAOB developments and the Board's current standard-setting activities. Additionally, the SAG will discuss:
- Auditor's Reporting Model: A potential approach to the auditor's reporting model that could increase its transparency and relevance to financial statement users.
- Fraud: Consideration of engaging in outreach and research regarding the auditor's approach to detecting fraud.
The meeting will be held at 1201 15th Street N.W., Washington, D.C., and will be open to the public on Nov. 15 and Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. It also will be available via webcast on the PCAOB website.
The Board established the SAG in 2003 to advise the PCAOB on the development of auditing and related professional practice standards. The SAG includes auditors, investors, public company executives, and others. The group is chaired by PCAOB Chief Auditor and Director of Professional Standards Martin F. Baumann.
