PCAOB Investor Advisory Group to Meet March 28
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board announced today that its Investor Advisory Group is scheduled to meet Wednesday, March 28, 2012, in Washington, D.C.
The meeting will focus on the PCAOB‘s mission to protect investors as described in the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, which marks its 10-year anniversary in July 2012. The agenda includes discussions of the role, relevancy and value of the audit; auditor assessments of a company's ability to continue as a going concern and related global initiatives; independence, objectivity and professional skepticism of auditors; and, audit firm practice and transparency.
"I look forward to a discussion of investors' views and an informative assessment of the PCAOB's work since its establishment," said Chairman Doty.
The PCAOB Investor Advisory Group is a forum for the investor community to provide the Board with views and advice on matters affecting investors and the work of the PCAOB. Members of the Investor Advisory Group represent a broad spectrum of the investment community as well as individuals who have a demonstrated history of commitment to investor protection.
The meeting will be held at The Madison Hotel, 1177 Fifteenth Street, N.W., Washington, D.C., 20005. It will be open to the public, webcast on the PCAOB website and available later by podcast.
