PCAOB Investor Advisory Group to Meet October 27
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board today announced that it will hold a meeting of its Investor Advisory Group on Thursday, October 27, 2016, in Washington.
IAG working groups will present to the Board their views on the following topics:
- Current issues with the reporting of non-GAAP measurements
- Status of recommendations from the Treasury Department's Advisory Committee on the Auditing Profession
- Auditor's reporting model
"We know investors are busy, and we appreciate their making time to provide us advice on how the PCAOB can best enhance the relevance and reliability of audits in today's markets," said PCAOB Chairman James R. Doty. "The discussions at IAG meetings are always informative and illuminating."
Topics the IAG has discussed at previous meetings include the auditor's evaluation of going concern; investor perspectives on certain PCAOB publications; audit firm practice and transparency; the role, relevance, and value of the audit; global networks and audit firm governance; and audit quality indicators.
Members of the IAG represent a wide range of professionals within the investment community and include individuals who have a demonstrated history of commitment to investor protection.
"As the PCAOB works to fulfill its investor protection mandate from Congress, input from investors is essential to shaping the agenda," said PCAOB Board Member Steven B. Harris, Chair of the IAG.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at the Hamilton Crowne Plaza Hotel, 1001 14th St. NW, Washington, DC 20005. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the meeting starting at 9 a.m. and running all day. The IAG meeting also will be available via webcast on the PCAOB website.
