PCAOB Issues Notices of Delinquency and Impending Withdrawal to 97 Audit Firms
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) today announced that it issued a Notice of Delinquency and Impending Withdrawal pursuant to PCAOB Rule 2107(h), Constructive Withdrawal Requests, to 97 PCAOB-registered audit firms. Adopted by the Board in November 2024, the rule establishes a process intended to help the PCAOB maintain a more accurate public record of registered public accounting firms that are in operation and wish to remain registered with the Board. This marks the first use of that process.
“This action provides investors and other market participants with a more accurate picture of the audit firms that remain active in the public company audit space,” said PCAOB Chairman Demetrios (Jim) Logothetis. “Maintaining complete and accurate registration records is a basic and essential function of the PCAOB and an important part of our mission to protect investors and the integrity of our capital markets.”
Firms with questions may contact the Registration staff by email or by phone at 202-207-9329, Monday through Friday, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET.
