PCAOB Names Suzanne Kinzer the Chief Administrative Officer
And makes the Office of Information Technology a separate business unit under Nirav Kapadia, Director
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board today announced that Suzanne Kinzer, former Deputy Director for Operations in the Division of Registration and Inspections, has been named the Chief Administrative Officer, effective Jan. 1, 2014.
Ms. Kinzer has been with the PCAOB for 10 years. In her new role, she will oversee the offices of Human Resources, Finance, Budget, Compliance and Risk Management, and Facilities. She will succeed Darrell Pauley, who is retiring from the PCAOB, effective Dec. 31, 2013.
"Suzanne is admired and trusted throughout the PCAOB. She brings strong skills and experience to her new role as Chief Administrative Officer that will benefit the PCAOB, its mission and its people," said PCAOB Chairman James R. Doty.
Also related to the Board's administrative functions, the Office of Information Technology will be moved out of the Office of Administration and become an independent business unit. Nirav Kapadia, who has led IT as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer, has been named the Director of the Office of Information Technology and will report to the Chairman.
"Establishing an independent IT office recognizes the vital importance of information technology to the operations of the PCAOB — from its Internet-based registration and reporting system for accounting firms, to enforcement case management and our inspection information system," said Chairman Doty. "Nirav has the sophisticated business and technical expertise to ensure safety, security and innovation at the PCAOB."
Ms. Kinzer joined the PCAOB in October 2003, and was named Deputy Director in the Division of Registration and Inspections in 2009. In that position, she oversees budgeting, hiring, scheduling and training. She also is the leader of the Washington, DC, regional office, and serves as the division's liaison with the Office of Human Resources.
Ms. Kinzer was formerly a partner at KPMG LLP. She received a BS in accounting from Pennsylvania State University and is a certified public accountant.
Mr. Kapadia joined the PCAOB in October 2011. Previously, he worked at Fujitsu America, Inc., and Unisys Corporation. He has an MS and a PhD in electrical and computer engineering from Purdue University. He is a certified information systems security professional (CISSP).
