PCAOB to Consider New Estimates Standard and Amendments Related to Using the Work of Specialists at Open Meeting December 20
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board will hold an open meeting on Thursday, December 20, at 10 a.m., to consider the adoption of enhanced requirements for Auditing Accounting Estimates, Including Fair Value Measurements, as well as amendments to its standards to strengthen requirements for an Auditor’s Use of the Work of Specialists.
The new estimates standard and amendments related to using the work of specialists in an audit, which are the two significant standard-setting projects on the Board’s agenda for 2018, are intended to further investor protection by enhancing audit requirements.
The meeting is open to the public and will take place in the PCAOB meeting room at 1666 K Street NW, Washington, DC. It will be streamed live on the PCAOB website and a recording will be available afterward.
