PCAOB to Consider Policy on Auditing Standards, Ethics Code
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board has scheduled an open meeting for 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 30, in the South America B Room at the Capital Hilton, 16th & K Streets NW, Washington, D.C.
The Board is scheduled to consider:
- Adopting rules on the use of an advisory group in connection with the Board's amendment of existing -- and establishment of new -- auditing and related professional practice standards and on compliance with the Board's standards, and
- Adopting an ethics code for Board members and staff. The Board proposed an ethics code and a statement of policy on auditing and related standards at an open meeting on April 16.
Comments on the proposals are available on the Board's Web site, www.pcaobus.org, under Rulemaking. If adopted, the ethics code and rules on standards will be submitted to the Securities and Exchange Commission for approval pursuant to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
