PCAOB To Host Second Workshop To Assist Smaller Audit Firms With Implementation of New Quality Control Standard

The June 17th event in Irving, Texas, continues the PCAOB’s efforts to provide implementation support related to QC 1000

Washington, DC, May 14, 2025

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) will host a second in-person workshop designed to assist smaller audit firms with the practical implementation of QC 1000, A Firm’s System of Quality Control. The event will be held on June 17, 2025, at the Westin Irving Convention Center (Las Colinas, 400 W. Las Colinas Blvd, Irving, TX, 75039) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (CST).

“Smaller firms play an important role in our work to protect investors, and the PCAOB is committed to providing resources and support,” said Chair Erica Y. Williams. “Through these workshops and the numerous resources released by our expert staff, the PCAOB aims to help smaller audit firms implement QC 1000 and ultimately improve audit quality. These workshops not only give us a chance to hear directly about the unique needs and challenges of smaller firms, but also ensure smaller firms are prepared, knowledgeable, and successful with quality control, ultimately enhancing investor protection.”

The workshop, which is specifically geared toward individuals at smaller audit firms who are directly responsible for implementing QC 1000, will provide hands-on activities on the practical implementation of the new standard and opportunities to engage directly with PCAOB staff ahead of the December 15, 2025, effective date. The PCAOB hosted a similar workshop on May 13 in Washington, DC.
