PCAOB To Host Workshop To Assist Smaller Audit Firms With Implementation of New Quality Control Standard

Continuing the PCAOB’s efforts to provide implementation support related to QC 1000, the in-person workshop will provide in-depth information and hands-on activities from PCAOB staff for auditors of smaller firms

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) will host an in-person workshop designed to assist smaller audit firms with the practical implementation of QC 1000, A Firm’s System of Quality Control. The event will be held on May 13, 2025, at the National Association of Home Builders, 1201 15th St NW, Washington, DC 20005 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“The PCAOB is committed to helping smaller audit firms implement QC 1000, as evidenced by this workshop and the numerous resources our expert staff continue to release,” said Erica Y. Williams, PCAOB Chair.If firms are prepared, knowledgeable, and ultimately successful with quality control, then investors are better protected.”

The workshop, which is specifically geared toward individuals at smaller audit firms who are directly responsible for implementing QC 1000, will provide hands-on activities on the practical implementation of the new standard and opportunities to engage directly with PCAOB staff ahead of the December 15, 2025, effective date.  

Registration Required for May 13 Smaller Firm Quality Control Workshop

There is no fee to attend the workshop, but advance registration is required, along with the completion of prerequisite materials, and can be completed online.

Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance to forum@pcaobus.org. There also will be an opportunity to submit questions during the workshop. CPE credit will not be offered for this workshop.

Additional QC implementation workshops are planned in the near future. One of those workshops will be virtual.
