PCAOB Updates Research and Standard-Setting Agendas

The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board has made updates to its research and standard-setting agenda. For the projects below, the status is now the following:

  • Quality Control - The staff is developing a proposed standard for the Board’s consideration.
  • Other Auditors - The staff is developing a Supplemental Request for Comment for the Board’s consideration in 2021.

The PCAOB is a nonprofit corporation established by Congress to oversee the audits of public companies in order to protect investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate, and independent audit reports. The PCAOB also oversees the audits of brokers and dealers registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission, including compliance reports filed pursuant to federal securities laws.
