PCAOB Investor Advisory Group to Meet on October 24
Meeting agenda includes non-GAAP measurements, noncompliance with laws and regulations, and audit quality initiatives
The Public Company Accounting Oversight Board will hold a meeting of its Investor Advisory Group on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, in Washington.
IAG working groups will present reports to the Board summarizing their views and initiating discussions on the following topics:
- Non-GAAP financial measurements
- Auditor's consideration of a client's noncompliance with laws and regulations
- Audit quality initiatives
"Input from investors is critical to an organization with an investor protection mandate," said Steven B. Harris, Board Member and IAG Chairman. "The IAG offers the Board a unique opportunity to hear directly from investors and investor advocates about topics that are important to them."
Topics the IAG has discussed at previous meetings include the auditor's reporting model; auditor's evaluation of going concern; investor perspectives on certain PCAOB publications; audit firm practice and transparency; the role, relevance, and value of the audit; global networks and audit firm governance; and audit quality indicators.
Members of the IAG represent a wide range of professionals within the investment community and include individuals who have a demonstrated history of commitment to investor protection.
The IAG meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at the The Westin Washington, D.C. City Center, 1400 M St. NW, Washington, DC 20005. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the meeting will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The meeting also will be streamed live via a link on the PCAOB website.
